The Market in Manchester has been appointed as the retail design agency for furniture manufacturer G Plan. The agency was originally hired to research shopping behaviour, by mapping customers’ journeys through stores which feature the brand.

Following the the report, G Plan brought it back to develop a creative strategy to drive the brand’s positioning and come up with new in-store designs. The first shop to get the makeover will be in Bristol at the end of the year, with a nationwide roll-out in 2010.

“We looked at several areas to deliver the shopping strategy, including store personality, customer education and communication. Our insight will now translate into the perfect store design and layout as well as marketing solutions, creating the ultimate shopping experience for G Plan customers,” explained Sue Benson, managing director at The Market.

Earlier this year the agency worked on in-store concepts for Moben and Sharps Dolphin.
